It would carry too far to enumerate all achievements, but in order to obtain a
good impression, figures can not be avoided.
Of course, the semi-national victory on Chateauroux (5357 p.) and the victory on
Creil (4638 Dutch and Belgium pigeons) were pinnacles of the beginning period.
Many early prizes in bigger unions announced more improvements.
The last twenty-five years, André belongs to the peak fanciers of
Afd.Oost-Brabant with over 4000 members in the beginning till 3000 now.
Meanwhile, we find him on the prize-lists as A.v.d.Wiel & dochter, because his
daughter Manon developed interest in the pigeon hobby from ‘90. She even took
a little loft with young pigeons under her protection. In the meantime, also Jan
Schreuder has put out his hand. That is why the race name changed to:
Comb.v.d.Wiel-Schreuder. In 2004 Manon stopped her activities in the
partnership.
Every year there are first places in the championships, in the club as well as in
the province. Their speciality is the distances over 250 miles, but they don’t
forget the sprint races!! In the last 10 years they won more then 120 first prizes
in the club and federation without doubles!
